My name is Jordan Skyler Coleman. I've had a little more time to feel out life and my surroundings, and get a little used to my family. This page is all about me and what I've been up to. 10 Feb 2007 I was born February 2nd, 2007 at 3:49 pm at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah. I was 20½ inches long, and weighed 8 lbs 12 oz. The midwife and nurses all told Mom to expect between 7 and 7½ lbs. Surprise! It was tough going, but me, Mommy and Daddy all survived the birth. Boy, were they happy to meet me! I bonded with them right away, like I already knew them. The first time the nurse handed me to my dad, I looked in his eyes and listened to his voice, and stopped crying right away. It just felt safe and right. That moment made Mom cry, but she says it’s because it was so perfect, it made her happy. |

I’ve been around for a whole week now, and I’ve pretty much got life figured out. Eat, sleep, cuddle, eat. It’s a cinch. My big sister Cami likes to hold me on her lap, and she always looks so proud to have me with her. It will be fun when I’m a little bigger and can play with her. Mom and Dad like having me around, too. Dad especially likes to hold me and my sister together on the couch, and call us his two babies. Mommy says it’s cute. Yeah, so I like it so far, and look forward to all there is to learn in this brand new life of mine. |

3 Jun 2007 I’m doing really well. I’m chubby and healthy, and people tell me I’m cute. I’ve learned this new thing I love—laughing. I don’t laugh real hard and loud yet, but I smile really big at people, and when they do goofy things at me, I laugh softly, which always seems to make them happy. |

I hear I’m a little harder on Mom and Dad than Cami was at my age because I hate being alone. I love to socialize with people—to be held and talked to, and to feel like I’m important—and when I’m set down so things can get done around the house or whatever, I make it very clear that I’m not happy about it. I just don’t like to be bored or left out. Mom’s getting better at doing stuff with one hand and her chin. Making dinner is a little sloppier, but at least I’m learning what I can about cooking first hand. I really like when Mom sings to me and plays patty-cake and peek-a-boo with me. My other favorite thing is looking in the mirror. I see all the different expressions I can make, and I think it’s pretty funny. Mommy tries |

to spend at least a few minutes with me everyday in front of the mirror so I can learn that I’m interesting and can keep myself entertained sometimes. I like when Dad holds me and talks to me. He tells me how much fun we’ll have together when I’m a little bigger and can play rougher with him like Cami does. I love my big sister. In fact, I'm downright fascinated with her. She talks to me and dances for me, she pushes me in my swing (sometimes a little too hard and it scares me, but I get over it quickly), and she likes to share her toys with me, although I have no idea what to do with them. I just end up buried in them. |

Cami’s also very protective of me, and always wants to make sure I’m safe and happy. Sometimes when Mom needs to get something done, and I'm doing my best to make that impossible for her, she'll ask Cami to come sing me a song. More often than not, it actually works—at least for a while. I can't wait until I'm big enough to sing and run around like she can. For now I just gaze at her in utter admiration. I hear so often how smart and cool Cami is, I am a little concerned that I'm going to have to be super spectacular in order to impress Mom and Dad at all! Of course, if I give Mom a big smile, she seems just as thrilled about it as when Cami learns a new song or something. So hopefully that means there won't be too much pressure. I like being in this family. |

I am a growing boy! I just turned 10 months old, and I weigh about 24 lbs. The doc says I’m in the 50th percentile for height (average), and the 90th percentile for weight (way above average). I’ve actually trimmed down quite a bit since I started crawling a little over two months ago – except for my cheeks – but I’m built solid. Mom says it feels like my bones are filled with lead, because other babies my size feel so light. Yeah, I can beat the snot out of those featherweights. I am a very happy baby… as long as there is someone giving me their constant undivided attention, that is. I feel abandoned if someone is not looking at me all the time, and I have no problem at all letting that be known. Mom does her best to oblige me when she can, and I do my best to fill those moments to the brim with my cute personality as her reward. |

Some of my favorite moments are when my big sister plays with me. She’s pretty funny, and likes to make me laugh. She does all kinds of loud and crazy things for me, and the two of us just giggle our guts out. Another thing I love about Cami is her pretty long blonde hair. I get my little fingers tangled in it and hold on tight at every opportunity. I always get in trouble, and I know I’m not supposed to pull her hair. But I can’t help myself, it’s so beautiful! You know who my hero is? Dad. I think he is so cool! Wherever he is, whatever he’s doing – I want to be right there with him. I brighten up whenever I get to play with him, and just gush with absolute admiration. For Halloween I dressed up as my dad, complete with beard and Costco tag. Everyone at his work loved it when I showed up in my costume, ‘cause they all think I look just like him. |

I’m a super fast crawler now. But what I like even more is cruising. I can walk along anything at top speed, and once in a while I stop paying attention to what I’m doing and let go and stand on my own for a few seconds. It probably won’t be too much longer ‘til I’m walking on my own without the furniture to hold me up. |

17 Jan 2008 Like I said, it wouldn’t be long. I’ve been walking like a pro for a few weeks now. I can turn corners, and I even manage to turn all the way around once in a while without falling. It’s so cool, all the things I can reach now! I still revert to crawling when I need to get somewhere fast, but I’m already getting faster on my feet. |

I crash and burn pretty often now. I’ve been told that I inherited clumsiness from my mother’s side. But I’ll get better. One time I was walking in the kitchen and fell forward into the corner of the cupboard, which caught me over the eye. But I locked my knees and I couldn’t reach the floor with my hands, so I was stuck there by my face, with my arms flailing frantically. Mom came from the other side of the room as quickly as she could to rescue me, but not before she got the funny image in her head of the dinosaur on Meet the Robinsons, “I’ve got this big head and tiny little arms!” I came out of it with a long bruised scrape from the top of my forehead down my right cheek. Mom came out of it with a feeling of guilt for finding it amusing as well as alarming – |

especially because there was actually a split second when she wanted to grab the camera. To my great relief, there is no picture to share with you. |

I’m starting to understand what people are saying to me. You can tell me to go get my bottle, or to come here, and I know what it means. Whether or not I actually obey is another story. I’m learning eyes, nose, mouth, ears, hands and stuff. Don’t quite get it yet, but I think having the words said to me while the feature is pointed out is a pretty fun game. I’m getting taller and looking a little older, though my hair still doesn’t seem to be growing much. But I’ve got six teeth now, and I know how to use them, so watch your fingers! |

You know what I love? Laughing! It is so fun. So is sneezing. That makes me laugh, too, especially when someone pretends to get knocked over by it. Peek-a-boo is super fun, too, and so is patty-cake. I also really like music. I dance to it whenever I can. When I hear it I get my stance, wait for the right moment to come in, and then do half squats to the beat. For some reason, people find it especially amusing in church, when I rock out to the hymns. Cami is so interesting to me. I’m completely fascinated by all the stuff she can do, and try to do it myself, but some of it’s pretty complex. I love when she tells me stories, and laughs with me. And when she holds my hands and walks around with me. Somehow falling down doesn’t bother me so much when it’s with her. I guess because she gets me laughing before I get a chance to cry. |

Oh, you know what I love more than anything in the universe? Electronics. Yeah. Remote controls, cell phones (especially flip phones), TV’s, DVD players, video games, you name it. If it’s got lights and buttons, I’m all over it! And don’t try to fool me with some kid toy version, either. I know the bright colored ones are fake. The real ones are black or silver or something, and so sleek it makes me drool. Watch out Circuit City, I’m growing up fast! I’ll be a year old in just a couple weeks, and I’m excited to see what experiences this second year will hold for me. I have a feeling it’s gonna be rockin’ good fun.
